About the company
Our client is a well-established, diversified agricultural enterprise with operations spanning multiple regions in South Africa. With a proud heritage in Southern African agriculture, the business cultivates and manages large-scale commercial operations across five core commodities: Sugarcane, Macadamia, Bananas, Mangos, and Timber.
The company is currently embarking on a significant, enterprise-wide ERP systems infrastructure modernisation programme. This strategic initiative will reshape how the business captures, processes, and leverages information across all divisions. They are seeking an Intermediate to Experienced Business Analyst to help build this capability and function within the organisation, supporting the transformation from the inside.
The Opportunity
Our client is investing in a modernised ERP platform to unify operations across multiple business divisions. To support this transformation, they require a capable Business Analyst to work closely with external implementation partners and internal stakeholders to build lasting capability within the organisation.
This is a key role where you will act as the bridge between operational Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical teams, ensuring business requirements are effectively translated into system solutions. Beyond documenting requirements, you will help drive change, build internal knowledge, and support the long-term success of the new ERP environment.
Requirements Elicitation & Documentation
- Engage with SMEs across multiple agricultural divisions to gather, analyse, and document business requirements, processes, and workflows.
- Translate complex business processes into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for ERP configuration.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and site visits to validate requirements and gain stakeholder input.
ERP Implementation Support
- Work closely with ERP implementation partners and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business needs.
- Conduct gap analyses between current processes and ERP capabilities, identifying impacts and recommendations.
- Develop process maps, flowcharts, and other supporting documentation to aid solution design and decision-making.
Data Management & Migration
- Support data cleansing, validation, and migration activities in collaboration with business teams.
- Document business rules and data requirements to ensure accurate data mapping and migration.
- Identify data quality issues and recommend improvement actions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
- Act as a key link between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Facilitate solution reviews, progress updates, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Manage expectations, identify risks, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Develop test scenarios and test scripts aligned to business requirements.
- Coordinate UAT activities, track defects, and support issue resolution.
- Document outcomes and lessons learned.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Develop and deliver end-user training materials and support documentation.
- Build internal system capability by empowering key users and business champions.
- Assist with post-go-live support and knowledge transfer.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and operational efficiencies.
- Monitor project outcomes and recommend enhancements where required.
- Contribute to the development of business analysis standards and best practices within the organisation.
