Description
Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Council, the CEO will provide strategic leadership and operational management of the organization to ensure the effective implementation of its mandate, achievement of strategic objectives, sound governance, financial sustainability, and stakeholder confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction in line with the organization's mandate and strategic plan.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead organizational performance, transformation, and operational excellence.
- Manage financial resources effectively and ensure sound financial governance.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with government departments, professional bodies, academia, industry, and other stakeholders.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and strengthen the organization's national and international profile.
- Implement policies, programmes, and initiatives that promote professional registration and development.
- Ensure effective risk management and organizational sustainability.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and innovation.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Master's degree in Natural Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Professional registration with a recognized professional body or eligibility for registration will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years' senior management or executive leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience in governance, strategy implementation, financial management, and stakeholder relations.
- Strong understanding of South African regulatory and public sector environments.
- Proven ability to lead organizational transformation and change management initiatives.
