In the dynamic world of employment, jobseekers and workers rely on various resources to connect with suitable job opportunities and or enhance their careers. One such avenue is through staffing agencies such as Express Employment Professionals.
Sadly, some unscrupulous agents operate unethical recruitment companies that charge a fee for their services. The Employment Services Act in Section 15 provides that “no person may charge a fee to any work seeker for providing employment services to that worker”. This is gazetted legislation designed to protect workers and job seekers alike from being exploited and excluded from participating in the job market. Charging a fee to a job seeker goes against the ethical and moral conduct of the staffing industry and is also in contradiction with international recruitment standards.
Express Employment Professionals values integrity and seeks to foster trust, loyalty and long-term relationships with our Associates and communities. We intend to support and encourage your career growth and development. Therefore, Express or an Express representative will never charge you a fee for:
- An interview
- A job
- For your contract to be renewed
- To load your CV on the database
- For administration
- To push your CV to the top
- A promotion
- A rate increase
If you are ever approached by an Express representative or any third party disguising themselves as Express attempting to charge you a fee, please do the following:
- Record the conversation/solicitation for money (do this safely, do not endanger yourself)
- Call your Express office and report this immediately
- Report this to your supervisor/management
- Email Talk2us@expresspros.co.za
- Contact Head Office at 0861 116 853
We are committed to ethical staffing and recruitment practices and will never ask for money from candidates or our Associates. Not charging fees to workers and job seekers creates an inclusive and competitive job market and ensures that no one gains and advantage through fraud in the job application process.
