Turn Data Into Business Growth
We are looking for a skilled and commercially minded Business Intelligence Specialist to build and strengthen our Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric reporting capability. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving business problems, uncovering meaningful insights, and helping decision-makers see what matters most.
This is not a reporting-only position. We need someone who can go beyond dashboards and actively identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance drivers across the business.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Transform operational and external data into useful business intelligence.
- Analyse data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and performance insights.
- Build and maintain data models, dataflows and ETL/ELT processes.
- Integrate data from SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs and other systems.
- Develop executive, management, franchisee, branch and client-facing reporting.
- Implement data governance, security and role-based access controls.
- Improve data quality by identifying gaps, inconsistencies and reporting issues.
- Support business leaders with meaningful analysis that improves decision-making.
- Train and support users in understanding and using BI solutions effectively.
- Manage deployment processes, testing and reporting environments.

- Technical Skills
- Strong experience in the Microsoft BI ecosystem, including:
- Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
- Microsoft Fabric
- SQL Server and T-SQL
- Power Query (M)
- DAX and semantic modelling
- Dataflows and ETL/ELT processes
- Row-Level Security and data governance
- Azure-based data technologies
- APIs and data integrations
- Power BI deployment pipelines and DevOps practices
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification
- Advantageous certifications include Degree or Diploma in IT / Computer Science, Microsoft PL-300, Microsoft DP-600 and/or BI Certifications
- Relevant IT, Data Science or Computer Science qualification
- Building and deploying Power BI solutions experience
- Complex SQL and data integration projects experience
- Data modelling and reporting architecture experience
- Security and governance implementation experience
- Delivering insights that created measurable business value
