Jakkie – from Express Richards Bay – has this young man who is just so very eager to work, it’s amazing. He bought himself a braai and started a little business braaiing meat near the shopping centre. He used to store his braai at the back of Pick n Pay’s entrance and unfortunately someone stole his braai. This was his only source of income that he had created for himself. They also stole his cell phone. He came into our office to explain to Jakkie that she can no longer phone him because his phone had now also been stolen. Jakkie felt sorry for him and gave him an old phone of hers just so that he had communication. She then placed him as a labourer with one of our clients. This morning, on his off-day, he came into the office and asked for Jakkie. He explained that he didn’t have any money, but has grown this in his garden and has brought it as a gift for her. This is a man that really appreciates an opportunity to work and really makes one’s job a pleasure! Well done, Jakkie! We are proud to have you as part of the Express team!
