Together with the CGE, our panel of judges and all those who have participated in the Standard Bank TOP WOMEN Awards in the past 15 years, we represent a community that actively responds to the pertinent questions surrounding the barriers to success for women entrepreneurs. We are excited about the work and calibre of this year’s finalists, and their significant impact offers South Africa optimism for the future. Join us in celebrating their achievements in realising gender equality, and appreciating our shared goals to reaching democratic progress.”

In South Africa, one of those leaders is undoubtedly Express Employment Professionals, in the running for the DIVERSITY IN THE WORKPLACE trophy at this year’s awards.

Commenting on the achievement of reaching Finalist status, Carolyn Diaz, Managing Director of Express Employment Professionals said, “We are absolutely thrilled to have achieved Finalist status within this category.  As an individual who started on my own almost 15 years ago, struggled through all the challenges alone, it is so encouraging to see that business is highlighting Women in Business, Empowering Women in Business, and Encouraging Women in Business “Thank you Standard Bank”.  I have always believed in empowering and mentoring women, from the first day I opened my small business in Pietermaritzburg.  Employing young ladies with passion, young ladies who have just graduated and need experience and mentorship and giving them opportunities to come into their own.  Today, 85% of my team at Express head office are women.  Women in leadership positions are making waves in business and I am so proud to be involved in a franchise system that allows women in business to be in business for themselves, but not by themselves.  It is not always easy, but we dig deep, find our strength, use our passion, find our VOICE, and use it to our advantage.”
